Low clearance puller finder

Enter the space you have, in inches. Each answer compares it with one dimension printed in the Cherry, Huck or Gage Bilt tool catalog. It is not a fit check of the whole tool.

The aircraft's structural repair manual and the manufacturer's installation instructions govern. The tool manufacturer's data sheet governs the tool's dimensions.

Reference only: the controlling drawing, its process spec and the manufacturer's installation instructions govern. How to use these answers

How the answer is worked outrules
  • Right angle head: the catalog's head height, nose tip to back of head, is compared with your headroom. Where the catalog figure draws the tool body rising above that height with no dimension, the answer is "dimension not published".
  • Straight or offset nose: it mounts in line with the riveter, and no catalog on file prints the riveter's length behind it. If the nose alone is as long as your headroom it does not fit. Otherwise the answer is "dimension not published".
  • Side clearance: the catalog's centreline to edge dimension is compared with your distance to one wall. Most of these are drawn to one edge only, a flat or the offset edge of the head, and the note with each value says which. A nose diameter is never halved to stand in for it.
  • No answer covers the riveter the nose mounts on. Its dimensions are not compared.
  • Tooling is listed per maker. A Cherry part gets Cherry's catalog rows, a Huck part gets Huck's. A third-party tool brand is listed apart with the rivet brands its own chart names.
  • A Gage Bilt nose length read from its part number is used only where the chart that lists the nose prints that rule. It is shown as read from the part number, and it can only rule a nose out.
