AN960 vs NAS1149: what replaced what

AN960 Rev 21 was cancelled on 16 September 2011. Notice 2, dated 15 January 2016, says "NAS1149, 'Washer, Flat' supersedes AN960" and cross-references each cancelled AN960 part number to a NAS1149 part number. The part number is different: the table lists AN960-416 against NAS1149F0463P.[1][2]

  • Notice 2 (15 January 2016), page 1: "AN960 REVISION 21, dated 6 AUGUST 1992, was cancelled on 16 September 2011. NAS1149, “Washer, Flat” supersedes AN960. Table 1 provides a detailed cross-reference of cancelled AN960 Part or Identifying Numbers (PIN) and replacement NAS1149 PINs."[2]
  • Notice 1 (16 September 2011), page 1: "AN960 REVISION 21, dated 6 AUGUST 1992, is hereby cancelled. Future acquisitions for this product should refer to NAS1149".[1]
  • Both notices, page 1: "CAUTION: The supersession information is valid as of the date of this notice and may be superseded by subsequent revisions of the superseding document."[1][2]
  • Notice 1 of 2011 headed its table: "AFTER 6 AUGUST 1992, AN960 WASHERS ARE INACTIVE FOR NEW DESIGN, EXISTING STOCK MAY BE USED UNTIL DEPLETED. SUBSITITUION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING TABLE." Notice 2 of 2016 does not print that heading. Its table is headed "TABLE 1. AN960 REV21 to NAS1149 cross-reference data." The part number pairs in the two tables are the same.[1][2]
